If it follows the same hax Krillin had in the Buu saga, coupled with his statement of still training with #18 sometimes then he might have a chance though.

The one that attacked Krillin and No.18 was the real No.17. I doubt Krillin kept his Boo arc hax strength. Toei didn't bother to let anybody else keep theirs.

They were linked by Gero and Muy. Krillin tried to protect 18. Even if you have him still having the Toei otherworld hax but progressively weaker from age, logic dictates that he and 18 thought they could stand up to normal 17 still. 17 jut had a gap on them much like the other half fighting Vegeta. Muy was a genius

I see Cell taking this without much difficulty, imo.

Then again one would think piccolo would have been sent to Grand Kais world over heaven. So it plausible Krillin did train and Toei expected us to know, or its possible he just chilled in heaven

I know what it was To be serious though, Android 17 completely beats Base Trunks who should, at this point, be above Cell in power. 17 one-shots Krillin. If Krillin was at least comparable to SPC, he shouldn't be one-shotted by 17. Krillin was thrown aside in GT.

That can solve a lot of this. 17's are powered up, SPC is himself in Z, and Krillin never reaches that level of power EOGT. Well, definitely not > Base Goku. Stepson.
